2024 Report

Our first year brought together leaders in our local ecosystem, from investors and founders to policymakers and executives, to globally renowned evangelists, founders, and technical talent. They focused not only on inspiration, but deep education around leadership, business, and other key topics critical to tech and Hawaii.

HTW 2024 brought together our network for a week of events that ranged from panels and keynotes to mixers and hands-on workshops and education. Participating in the week were founders, investors, engineers, tech professionals, industry executives, STEM students, policy makers, and community builders.

Themes and topics of the week included the full spectrum of tech, business, and community, ranging from AI, fundraising, and scaling companies to talent development, founder health, and education. Industries from consumer mobile to enterprise SaaS and renewable energy were covered.

The week showcased our local ecosystem and those connected to it globally, in a form factor that allowed for Hawaii's leading venues and unique locations to take part. In addition to company offices, coworking spaces, and universities, our favorite local venues, coffee shops, and even the beach held events.

Our hackathon brought together tech professionals from engineers and founders to investors, alongside our university and high school students from University of Hawaii to Stanford. Over a multi-week period, participants put together projects that ranged from AI-assistants to tools to prevent moped theft.

Thanks to the mentorship and coordination from those like Kevin Lim (Hawaii Tech Mentors), students and participants developed a deeper skill set and confidence. Over $10K in total prizes were distributed across 8 finalist teams.

We ended the week with networking and connection across the entire tech ecosystem. Following the networking mixer, we danced the night away with a DJ set celebrating a week of connection, education, and inspiration.
