Honolulu Tech Week 2024 – Terms & Conditions

By attending any event organized as part of Honolulu Tech Week ("HTW"), including but not limited to events hosted by Honolulu Tech Week LLC and those hosted by participating community members, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Acceptance of Terms
By signing up for Honolulu Tech Week and registering for, attending, or participating in any event during HTW, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Liability Waiver
You acknowledge and agree that your attendance and participation in any HTW event is at your own risk. Honolulu Tech Week LLC, its affiliates, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and agents (collectively "HTW Parties") shall not be held liable for any injuries, losses, damages, claims, or expenses of any kind arising from or related to your participation in HTW events, whether hosted by HTW Parties or any third parties. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HTW Parties from any liability or claims made by yourself or others due to your participation in any HTW event.

3. Right to Record and Use Content
By attending any HTW event, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded by the official Honolulu Tech Week videography team, and you grant HTW Parties the irrevocable, perpetual, and worldwide right to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and publish your image, likeness, voice, and any other content captured during the events in any media format, for any purpose, including promotional and marketing activities, without compensation to you.

4. Third-Party Events
HTW features events organized by community members, sponsors, and other third parties. HTW Parties are not responsible for the content, safety, or conduct of these events. Participation in such events is solely between you and the event organizer, and you agree that HTW Parties bear no responsibility or liability for any incidents or disputes arising from such events.

5. Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that events may involve physical activities or environments that could pose risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, and property damage. By attending any HTW event, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation.

6. Code of Conduct
HTW is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all attendees, participants, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers. By attending any HTW event, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:
(a) Respect for Others: HTW is dedicated to creating a positive experience for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, religion, or technology choices. Harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
(b) Professionalism and Courtesy: All interactions at HTW events should be conducted in a professional and courteous manner. This applies to discussions, networking, and participation both in-person and online. Disruptive behavior, inappropriate language, or derogatory comments are not acceptable.
(c) Consent and Personal Boundaries: Respect the personal boundaries and space of others. Do not engage in unwelcome physical contact, invasive photography, or persistent attention. We encourage attendees to share videos and photos from their experiences, but please seek consent before capturing images or recordings of specific individuals, unless in public sessions or areas where event-wide recording is reasonably expected.
(d) Safe and Supportive Environment: HTW strives to maintain a safe environment for all participants. Any form of violence, threats, or aggressive behavior will result in immediate removal from the event. If you observe or experience conduct that is unsafe or violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to HTW staff immediately.
(e) Responsible Alcohol Consumption: Some HTW events for adults 21 years and older may include alcoholic beverages. If you choose to consume alcohol, please do so responsibly. Excessive intoxication or disruptive behavior related to alcohol consumption will result in removal from the event.
(f) Compliance with Venue Rules: Attendees must adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the venues hosting HTW events. This includes respecting venue staff, property, and any posted regulations.
(g) Consequences of Violations: HTW reserves the right to take any action deemed appropriate, including warning, expulsion from events, or reporting to law enforcement, in response to behavior that violates this Code of Conduct. No refunds will be provided in cases of expulsion.

7. Changes to Terms
HTW reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the official HTW website (honolulutechweek.com/terms-and-conditions).

8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawaii.
